About Us

Paul the Cabinet MakerPathway Antiques’ owner, Paul Beaupre, is a skilled cabinetmaker with a reputation for designing and building beautiful custom furniture at fair prices. His passions – also  his specialties – lie in reproduction antique furniture and in antique restoration.

Paul began his training under a master European cabinetmaker in 1976 and quickly realized he had found his calling. In 1981, he founded Canadian Heritage Designs, a boutique furniture manufacturing concern dedicated to producing reproduction furniture from the days of the early pioneer settlers in Ontario and Quebec.

By 1998, however, Paul found himself with a factory, two stores, thirty employees, and a phone that was pretty much glued to his ear. Realizing that he was no longer doing what he loved, after many months of soul-searching, he sold the business.

From 2001 to 2007, Paul owned the popular Pathway Antiques store on East 1st Avenue in North Vancouver, just down the street from his workshop. With the local market for antique furniture in decline, he made the tough decision to close the store in 2007 and focus on what he really loves doing: meeting with customers, designing custom furniture, building reproductions and restoring antiques.
