Testimonials
“Paul Beaupre is a true artisan who performs his work with an attention to detail and an integrity rarely seen. He is the perfect combination of passion, skill and craftsmanship, and he genuinely loves what he does. I had the pleasure of working with Paul when he had the Pathway Antiques store, so I’ve seen countless pieces of furniture that he’s brought back to life, as well as wonderful pieces he has designed and built, not to mention the smiles on the faces of his delighted clients.”

“My wife and I wandered into Pathway Antiques a short time after we’d bought our house in 2000. We were immediately taken with Paul and realized that the charm of the store was rooted in the charm of the owner. Paul was engaging, informative and fun, everything we like in a store owner. We bought many, many items from Paul and when he comes to our house he delights in revisiting some of his old, favourite pieces.
As we got to know Paul, we got to know more of his talents, one of which, besides helping me make my finest Scotch disappear, is custom cabinet-making. Paul absolutely excels in this discipline. Not only does he have the highest standards but he has that unique gift of making cabinets, doors and shelves that totally fit with the landscape of our home. To that end, I have enjoyed an easy, collaborative relationship with Paul and find him to be incredibly open to desires, suggestions and whatever caveats I throw at him.
Our home is full of wood and has the feel of a farmhouse. It’s very warm with the glow of all that aged, ambered fir. In our family room we bought a wall-mounted 42” flat screen TV. Once it was on the wall, it could not have looked any uglier, a dog’s breakfast of metal and brackets that stood out a mile. We wanted it encased in a combination cabinet and bookcase unit. This was not something that could be store-bought and so I had the luxury of being able to design it with Paul.
Paul offered suggestions that I hadn’t even considered, like cutting slats in the wood so that the heat of the TV and DVD player would be able to escape up and out, therefore not heating or buckling the wood. Not only that, Paul used fir veneer when he could, to keep the cost down. The entire unit is beautifully crafted to within a millimetre of its life, a fact made even more amazing considering that the piece is modular and came in three sections! On top of that, Paul dug into a drawer of his containing antique knobs and handles and attached four entirely unique handles that could not be bought in a store. Friends are amazed by this unit and I’m so glad to be able to close the cabinet doors and hide away the 42” beast that sits inside.
We’ve received countless compliments on the shelves, cabinets, sofa tables and foyer tables that Paul has designed and built for us. His prices are reasonable and we feel that we get incredible value for our money with Paul’s talents. Meg and I would not hesitate to recommend Paul to anyone. He works hard yet works easy.”
